Cone Penetrometer
As per IS:2720 (Part-V), for determining the Liquid Limit of Soils. This is specailly useful to obtain reliable and accurate results for those soils which have low plasticity index. The percentage moisutre contents determined when a cone with half angle of 30° under a total sliding weight of 148 gm penetrates 25mm gives the Liquid Limit.

- For Liquid Limit of Soils having low plasticity index as per 11196:1985 consist of a stand which has arrangement to release the plunger assembly and a dial marked 0 – 400mm x 1/10 of mm dial gauge is covered. Supplied complete with a brass cone 30° and a penetration test cup 55mm I.D. x 40mm deep.
